What's the Skinny?

If you are already a fan of Revival Market, you have spent a fair amount of time perusing through the small grocer picking up a few specialty items and even enjoying a cup of their wonderful coffee. On the other hand, if you have yet to visit, the introduction of dinner into the mix will surely be a reason to drop by.

Fast forward to now...the space has been partially transformed into a restaurant where you can not only come to partake in breakfast, lunch, and dinner, but you can still shop for some really great local products and a few house made items as well. However the newly available dinner menu at the the "new" butcher/coffee shop/grocery store is not something to take with a grain of salt. Serious offerings that showcase their butchery skills, the purposeful reuse of ingredients that seek to deepen flavor profiles, and a thoughtful approach to texture equals none other than a home run.

What Did We Love?

44 Farms Sliced Sirloin: It's not labeled this on the menu but the best way to describe this dish would be "Beef Stroganoff." The noodles (which are substantial and hand cut) and fresh mushrooms which are both blended with a very rich and decadent sour cream sauce are only half of what makes this dish perfect. Did someone say 44 Farms sirloin? Enough said.

Roasted Pastured Half Chicken: I admittedly pass up chicken dishes on a menu only because I feel as though I can get that at home. However, I will caution you to not make the same mistake here. This tender chicken is sous vide (which helps to seal in the moisture) and then roasted to crisp the skin. I couldn't make it this well even if I tried.

Buttermilk Pie: Pastry Chef Alyssa Dole is giving you a reason to skip on that diet even if it's just for one meal. This pie is so good, you may not want to tell you grandmother that you like it better than hers. It's southern comfort crafted into a deliciously warm slice of custard with a ton of butter (ya know, the good stuff) topped with cream and garnished with peaches.

Revival Market should have their license soon, but in the meantime they are BYOB ($10 cork fee). When all is said and done, they'll have a full bar stocked with tasty cocktails and wine. In addition, they will begin hosting a weekend brunch as soon as the bar is up and running.
