Never again will you have to utter the words, “there is nothing going on in Houston”! Each week, we will bring you five swanky (and hand-picked) events that are sure to keep your social life in check. From art shows to culinary festivals, speakeasies, concerts, live performances, and pop-up shops, there is always something to do and to get into in H-town! Check out the fun things to do in Houston this week:

BBQ Pop-up at Glitter Karaoke (Thursday, September 21st)

Glitter Karaoke is dedicated to good food and great fun! This is the spot where all the hottest chefs in the city go to showcase their delicious fare with a pop-up dinner. Up this time are those Alief boys that are mean on that pit, The Blood Bros.! If that doesn’t get you excited then maybe fact that they will be working with 44 Farms will do it for you!

Sip & Sneak Peek on 19th Street (Thursday, September 21st)

Every 3rd Thursday, the 19th Street shops roll out the red carpet so you all can sip, shop, and enjoy the evening! For the September edition, there’s a twist! Since the 19th street is playing host to the 7th Annual Houston Halloweens Festival, they will do a Sip & Sneak Peek. There will be everything from craft brew from local breweries to street performances. As a bonus, you can dine on BBQ dishes from Shade Heights and Harold’s Restaurant & Tap Room. This event is free to the public.

Texas Hot Sauce Festival (Saturday, September 23rd)

This event is getting hot, hot, hot! The Texas Hot Sauce Festival is back and bringing the heat in the form of hot sauces, salsas, dips, spices, marinades, rubs, jams, and more! Guests will be able to sample and purchase food and products from all over the country. There will also be live performances and a kids area with free face painting. Tickets are $10 and free for kids 12 and under.

Houston Corks and Forks (Saturday, September 23rd)

Watch as Houston’s top chefs compete in a culinary competition for a great cause. The third annual Houston Corks and Forks event will raise funds to support the American Cancer Society. Guests will enjoy food tastings and sip on fine wines. Tickets start at $125.

Food Truck Festival (Saturday, September 23rd)

Food truck lovers and foodies it’s time for the 2nd Annual Food Truck Festival! There will be lots of food trucks, a craft beer tasting, live music, and fun activities for the kids. Tickets for this event start at $10 per person and for kids under 12 it’s free.
