Do you agree that wine makes everything better? No matter what you are doing or where you are going wine seems to bring the experience up a notch am I right? Kicking your feet up after a long day at the office…with wine…better. A nice dinner at your favorite restaurant with your beau…with wine…better. Or, how about a girls night out with your besties…with wine…better. That is exactly what Painting With a Twist founders Cathy Deano and Renee Maloney realized when they birthed the idea of combining a painting class with wine almost 5 year ago in New Orleans. Today, they franchise over 170 locations that span across 28 states including Texas, Louisiana, California, and New York.

Painting With a Twist has really grown in popularity as it has become an ideal place to unwind with both family and friends. At their local “paint and sip” is where you will find many ladies spending their Sunday brunches, bachelorette parties, or girls day/night out. Even couples are having a great time in the company of other couples with paint and wine date nights and other coed gatherings. The kids get in on the fun too as many locations offer summer camp classes and options for those that have not yet hit the 21-year-old mark. Not only do the various locations offer a safe environment to hang out with your friends, but you get the opportunity to go from an amateur painter to a pro in just a mere two to three hours. Okay, that may not always be the case, but you sure have fun trying!

What our painting was “supposed” to look like.

The classes are taught by local artists who provide step-by-step introduction on the painting chosen for the evening. When reserving a class, the schedule will dictate which painting you will paint and with over 3,500 options, they have quite the collection. I can proudly say that I now have two paintings from my visits to Painting With a Twist (you do get to take your painting home with you). During your class, you will learn cool techniques like how to properly hold your brush to result in the necessary thickness or color blend. And as the class progresses and you become more comfortable, the techniques become more complex. All this is going on while drinking your favorite glass of red or white wine. Isn’t that just grand.

The finished product. Not bad eh?

The classes are $35 for 2 hour paintings and $45 for 3 hour paintings. You can attend an open class (classes are fairly small) or if you have 10 or more people, you can opt for a private class. You bring your own wine, a few snacks if you choose, and you have yourself painting party! Don’t worry about your painting being perfect, because if you drink enough wine it will look as though it’s worth a million bucks! Click here to find a location nearest you.

* Be responsible and do not drink and drive if you feel you are unable to do so.
