Never again will you have to utter the words, “there is nothing going on in Houston”! Each week, we will bring you five swanky (and hand-picked) events that are sure to keep your social life in check. From art shows to culinary festivals, speakeasies, concerts, live performances, and pop-up shops, there is always something to do and to get into in H-town! Check out the fun things to do in Houston this week:
Looking for a fun way to bring in the New Year? Why not head to Hotel ZaZa! You can get your party on and then spend the night and enjoy breakfast in bed in 2018. Their annual bubble NYE Soiree will feature handcrafted cocktails, music by DJ Tran, passed apps, and much more! Contact the hotel to find out about the great packages they have available.
Before hitting the town for an adult New Year’s Eve celebration, why not pack up the family and head to the Noon Year’s Eve Celebration in CITYCENTRE. There will be a DJ spinning tunes, face painting, balloon and caricature artist, and bubbles at noon for the adults!
Even though temperatures have dropped, don’t let that stop you from checking out Screen On The Green going on at Discovery Green. This weeks film is Leap! You are welcome to bring blankets and chairs to view from the hill. This event is free to the public. Add a little extra time to the beginning of your night to do some ice skating before the movie starts!
Kick off the new year with a Michael Jackson themed night ride! During the Michael Jackson Night Light Vibe, riders will experience a cruise around the city streets in brand new Dutch Bikes equipped with multicolor LED lights. Riders will vibe and ride to a collection of Michael Jackson songs during the event.
Now in its 4th year, Indie Chefs Week is heading to Houston for three evenings of culinary prowess. Each evening, 20 chefs (working in pairs) will each showcase a single dish giving you a taste of what they do in their own kitchens. Tickets to this 10-course meal start at $150 and include dinner, a glass of sparkling wine and canapes upon arrival, and several glasses of wines for pairing.
