Never again will you have to utter the words, “there is nothing going on in Houston”! Each week, we will bring you five swanky (and hand-picked) events that are sure to keep your social life in check. From art shows to culinary festivals, speakeasies, concerts, live performances, and pop-up shops, there is always something to do and to get into in H-town! Check out the fun things to do in Houston this week:
Holler Brewing Co. has joined forces with Chef Lyle Bento and Ruben Z. for a Southern Goods pop-up! Proceeds will benefit damage relief from the recent fire the restaurant experienced. Come out and enjoy some tasty eats for a good cause!
It’s time for The Session Talk Show “Taste Buds Food Festival”! This event supports the community and has partnered with the Houston Food Bank to assist families that have been affected by Hurricane Harvey. There will be food trucks, fresh baked goods, shopping, and lots of fun to be had by all! They are encouraging the donation of non-perishable can goods during the event. This event is free to the public.
The first-of-its-kind event, Sober Eve starts the New Year responsibly, drug and alcohol free. Providing a fresh alternative to the usual New Year’s Eve celebrations, patrons will enjoy live music provided by DJ Freddy B, light hors d’oeuvres, dancing, photo booth fun, a midnight confetti drop, a coffee bar and creative mocktails provided by a craft mixologist.
When you get your headphones you can tune into three different DJs! Don’t like the music DJ1 is playing? Just flip a switch and see what DJ2 or DJ3 is playing – you’re in control of the music! Colored LED lights let you know what your friends are listening to. The DJ’s will be spinning your fave Hip-Hop, R&B, Reggae & Top 40 Hits. Once the clock strikes 1am, enjoy nothing but TRAP VIBES! Tickets start at $15.
Celebrate the season in the most magical way at the 4th annual Sugar Land Holiday Lights presented by Momentum Luxury Motors. This sparkling wonderland features more than 2.5 million lights and numerous themed displays. You can also get some holiday shopping done with a variety of vendors, enjoy great food, and meet Santa!
