Never again will you have to utter the words, “there is nothing going on in Houston”! Each week, we will bring you five swanky (and hand-picked) events that are sure to keep your social life in check. From art shows to culinary festivals, speakeasies, concerts, live performances, and pop-up shops, there is always something to do and to get into in H-town! Check out the fun things to do in Houston this week:

Hip Hop Flea Market (Sunday, August 27th)

Location: Remax Building/Graff lot, 2011 Leeland Tx, Houston, Tx 77003

How about a little vintage shopping with a side of unique hip hop finds and topped with live breaking that will be interactive? Yeah, that mix is happening at the Hip Hop Flea Market! So head out and do some shopping while enjoying the festive environment. This event is free to the public.

Movie Night at Axelrad (Monday, August 28th)

Location: Axelrad Beer Garden, 1517 Alabama St, Houston, TX 77004

Movies and beer seem like a good idea, and adding in wine an even better one! So Axelrad will be hosting Movie night every Monday in the Fall and Winter months. So bring your chairs and blankets to get your snuggle on during the flick. Up next…Office Space. This event is free to the public.

Tequila & Tamales Night (Wednesday, August 30th)

Location: Brasil Houston, 2604 Dunlavy St, Houston, Texas 77006

Cafe Brasil is hosting a test kitchen night and as they “test” out new recipes, you’ll get to reap the rewards. Enjoy a new selection of specialty tamales and several tequila cocktails to go along with them. There is no admission but the food is on you.

Greater Houston Food Truck Festival (Saturday, September 2nd)

Location: Hobby Event Center, 9906 Gulf Freeway, Houston, TX 77034

The Greater Houston Food Truck Festival promises to showcase the city’s culinary diversity along with some incredible musical talent! This kid-friendly event will have a little something for everyone. There will be food trucks of course, but also local vendors showcasing their products, water slides, ice cream, live music and much. Tickets are $10.

BrewMasters Craft Beer Festival (Friday-Sunday, September 1st-3rd)

Location: Moody Gardens Hotel, Spa and Convention Center, 7 Hope Blvd, Galveston, TX 77554

The BrewMasters Craft Beer Festival was named one of the top three beer festivals in the country by USATODAY and for good reason. It’s three days brew-tastic events including the Brew-B-Que, Texas Brewery Tasting Tour, Beach, Brews & Bands, and the BrewHaHa Grand Tasting, just to name a few.
