Move over Justin Timberlake…Lincoln is bringing their sexy back!

Lincoln Motor Company is hosting a personal driving tour to not only reintroduce you to the brand and the sexy “re-imagined” Lincoln MKZ, but they have also partnered with several local businesses (that align with both the new concept and their vision) to reintroduce you to Houston. We got an opportunity to meet Lincoln Ambassador and former NFL star, Emmitt Smith, chop it up with our buddies and hot sauce connoisseurs Jeremiah and James from Bravado Spice Co., learn more about local leather company Rugged Gnome, test drive several vehicles, and visit a few places we had yet to discover. Our evening kicked off at the River Oaks Shopping Center where we jumped in the backseat of a hot-to-trot Lincoln MKZ with Style & Envy, another duo of fashion forward ladies.

As we followed our tour leader through the streets of the Heights neighborhood, we all swooned over the top notch design of the Lincoln MKZ. From the push button controls located on the center console, to the over-sized sunroof that provided a view for both front and back seat passengers, we were all in love from the moment with said “hello”. This was definitely a car for the grown folks and we all agreed how great we would look driving around in one of these lovelies.

The stops on our tour were well planned. First, we visited Shade House Development and their green living homes; simply named “Row on 25th”. These homes were energy efficient, modern, and took a minimalistic approach to just about everything. Our second stop left us felling pretty inspired. The Burning Bones Press is a local printmaking studio that collaborates with artists to create some of the most unique (limited edition and original) screenprints, woodcuts, lithographs, and monoprints. If this is what Lincoln has in store with their updated brand, just tell us where to sign on the dotted line. We would do it no justice if we merely stated this was a great event.

We highly recommend taking advantage of this tour while they are in Houston. You will have an opportunity to get behind the wheel of the all-new 2013 Lincoln MKZ and get closeup and personal with a few Houston’s most unique businesses – and the people behind them. This is not your typical vehicle test drive experience; it is truly a cultural experience. The tour is currently open to the public through November 10, 2013. Lincoln has partnered with local artisans in food, art, architecture and design who are providing exclusive access to how they create uniquely-designed products.

The Houston tour includes opportunities to step out of the vehicle for customized experiences at partner locations, which include:

• Green living homes from innovative husband-wife design team, Shade House Development
• Original, limited edition prints and etchings from local art studio, Burning Bones Press
• Locally-sourced, handcrafted hot sauces from Houston newcomer, Bravado Spice Co.
• Detailed, quality leather goods from local reinvented artisan, Rugged Gnome

Reservations are available from Thursday–Friday, 4:00 p.m.–10:00 p.m. (every hour) and Saturday-Sunday, 12:00 p.m.–9:00 p.m. (every hour). Lincoln has curated activities along a specified route, which will begin and end at River Oaks Shopping Center (2005 West Gray Street, Houston, TX 77019). The Lincoln Gallery location is located next to the River Oaks Theatre on the left.
