The much anticipated Korean Festival, hosted by Korean American Society of Houston (KASH) and sponsored by Houston Area Hyundai Dealers, is returning this fall for the sixth year on Saturday, October 18th at Discovery Green. Houstonians can again connect with the gem of Asia right at the heart of Downtown Houston.
This year’s theme is Connect with Korea, featuring LA based rapper Dan Matthews “DANakaDAN”, a Korean American adoptee, who documented his reunion with his biological parents in Korea and found that he has a twin brother who shared the same passion with him for hip hop. The YouTube artist with a growing following will bring his story and talented performance to the 2014 Korean Festival.
“We want to bring something unique about the Korean culture to celebrate with the Greater Houston community each year, and we have successfully done so for the past five years,” said Kristina Kim, director of 2014 Korean Festival . “This year, we’re excited to bring out the interest of Korean culture in Houstonians on a deeper level and share with them another funfilled cultural event with music, live performances, and authentic Korean cuisine.”
The festival will bring together other renowned Korean musicians and artists from around the nation, local Korean folk dance and Taekwondo groups with performances throughout the day.
The 2014 Korean Festival is free and open to the public. The family friendly event will include activities catering to both adults and children, and special exhibition on Korean culture. A variety of Korean cuisine provided by local restaurants is available for purchase at the event. For more information, please visit www.koreanfestivalhouston.com.
