A few weeks back we enjoyed an evening sipping on Buffalo Bayou brews, snacking on light bites, and catching up with a few of our blogger and industry friends at the Whole Foods Market in Montrose. In an effort to raise awareness for the upcoming Empty Bowls Houston, scheduled for June 3rd, Whole Foods Market partnered with the Houston Food Bank to host Brews for Bowls.

Local pottery studio, The Mad Potter, was on hand to assist the group with painting our very own bowl. With painting supplies in hand, we were all on a quest to design a bowl worthy of being a part of the sale. Yes! Our bowls are going to be donated, featured, and ultimately sold at the 13th Annual Empty Bowls Houston! Yep, no pressure there at all.

Swanky Girl named her bowl “Spring Kisses” as the colors and design reflect her thoughts and love for Spring. Urban Girl has a thing for clean and straight lines so that was the focus of her design. Her bowl named “Straight to the Point” used varying pastel colors with row of dots for a little pop.

Our bowls were now ready to be glazed and fired. We can’t wait to see them at Empty Bowls Houston and we hope they find their way into a new home. All funds raised from Empty Bowls will go towards alleviating hunger in the greater Houston area. To learn more about Empty Bowl Houston, click here.
