How cool is it that Houston has finally become a cool city? People are moving here in droves, just to get a piece of this fabulousness we have going on. And these days there is lots going on and many major things happening. Many of these “happenings” seem to occur inside the loop, which has us longing to be inner loop girls! But since we have no intention of selling our homes and uprooting (well not in the next few months anyway), we take all the opportunities that come our way to do staycations in the heart of our city! Last month we got the chance to pack up and move into one of the hottest new addresses for a weekend, and to take advantage of all that came with it.
Located in what has been deemed the “new” Montrose, 2900 W. Dallas, an upscale apartment complex located on the corner of Dallas and Waugh, is redefining luxury living. Comprised of quarters fit for the most discerning urban city dweller, one would be lucky to call this place their home. The well appointed one and two bedroom apartment homes range in size from 755 square feet to 1,551 square feet and with over 15 floors plans, there is a perfect choice to satisfy every need.

After the grand tour of what would be our digs for the night, we immediately fell in love with the two bedroom apartment. The biggest selling point for us was the solid steel construction which ensures you don’t hear any street noise, including your neighbors. Everything was top notch from the built in wine cooler, stainless steel appliances, hardwood floors, granite countertops, and the attention to detail. We left saying, “okay, when are we moving in?”; talk about “had me at hello”. Hailing from the west side of town and being raised in other suburban areas of the city, this was a welcomed “teaser” to say the least.

In addition to the stellar accommodations, the property also supports the concept of what we call “love thy neighbor”. It is all about being apart of a community and establishing friendships which is why they host monthly scheduled events, like their pool-side BBQ’s (at one of their four pools), to consistently push this notion. The two-story state of the art gym, business center, being walking distance from Buffalo Bayou Park, and within steps of a Whole Foods are just a few more reasons this location is a viable option for your next home search.
As we ventured out into the area, we made a few notable stops:

Max’s Wine Dive: The second location of the popular southern-food-with-a-twist destination has recently opened its doors. Serving up a few new dishes in addition to their popular offerings of Wings and Creme Brulee Battered French Toast, there is much to love in this swanky dive.

Americas: Preparing some of the best Churrascos steak this side of the Mississippi, Americas gives you several reasons to visit over and over again. Their happy hour is pretty awesome and we could live off of the plantain chips and corn smoked crab claws alone.

International Derma Spa: This spa is owned and operated by Shirin, who has a cult-like following because of her legendary facials and skills. This small and cozy spa is a hidden gem that will leave you rejuvenated and relaxed!

Tony Mandola’s: This iconic Houston restaurant serves some of the cities tastiest seafood and Italian food. Did you know that they are also known for their amazing Sunday Brunch? This Sunday Jazz brunch offers two major things that we really enjoy…Southern Fried Chicken (only available on Sunday) and the sweet sound of vocalist Yvonne Washington.
We had a great weekend as inner loop girls and are now REALLY considering moving in a little bit closer.

Urban Swank was hosted for the weekend, but the opinions expressed are our own.
