Houston newcomer, Doc’s Motorworks, has officially expanded beyond neighboring Austin to settle within the cultural and energetic confines of Montrose. Defining itself as a “beer garden” it will easily become a go-to spot for watching both people and football games.

With the extended summer weather we are experiencing, and temperatures still idling around the 70’s, the dog-friendly patio will continue to the perfect spot to grab one of Doc’s Motorworks 50 beers (including several of Houston’s very own breweries like Karbach, St Arnold, 8th Wonder, Buffalo Bayou, Fort Bend, Lone Pint and No Label Brewing Co.). In addition to the expansive beer selection, you can’t visit without ordering one of their five cocktails or four wines on tap. See…they have love for us non-beer drinkers too!

The food is typical of what you would find at a bar…only better. This is like bar food with a dose of “boom!”. Serving up Tex-Mex style options, it would be only fitting to find favorites like Fajita Street Tacos, Mini Tostadas, and South Congress Eggrolls (filled with beef or chicken, rice, and beans). And if you only have room for one thing, with zero hesitation, I would say say go for the Cheese Fries! These babies are topped with queso, mixed cheese, bacon, green onions and sour cream and are the perfect companion to your chosen beverage for the day and/or evening. Check out the full menu here.
