Some of the top chefs in Houston brought their A game and came together in support of the Lucky Dog Rescue organization. Lucky Dog Rescue is a nonprofit animal welfare organization dedicated to providing rescue services, vet care, foster care and adoptive placement to stray and abandoned dogs.
The chefs were tasked with constructing a “one of a kind” gingerbread house that were then judged on creativity, curb appeal, and overall best in show. During the event, the gingerbread houses were auctioned off to the highest bidder with the proceeds benefiting Lucky Dog Rescue.
The contestants included Peter Laufer of Royal Sonesta, Susan Molzan of Petite Sweets, Kevin Bryant of L’Olivier, Monica Glenn from Uchi, Neal Cox from The Houstonian, Johnny Wesley of Killen’s Steakhouse, Matthew Zoch of Prego, Samantha Mendoza of Triniti, Richard Esquivel of BraeBurn Country Club, and David Coffman of Katsuya. Although there were some pretty awesome gingerbread houses in the place, Chef Kevin from L’Olivier took home 1st place!
