Tradicao Brazilian Steakhouse creates special drink in remembrance of Anne Sullivan, a young firefighter who was lost in the May 31st tragic fire.
In loving memory of fallen firefighter Anne McCormick Sullivan, Tradicao Brazilian Steakhouse located at Southwest Freeway and Wilcrest, has created a red cocktail in her honor. The “Punky,” Anne’s nickname at the fire station, is a concoction of mint, strawberry puree, rum, and white wine, shaken with a splash of sprite and soda.
During the month of June, the Punky will be on the restaurant’s drink specials menu and all proceeds will go to the Anne McCormick Sullivan Memorial Scholarship. The soon-to-be-established fund encourages young women to enter the noble profession of firefighting.
As an alumni of Dulles High School (’07) and soccer teammate of Melissa Abrantes, the restaurant’s sales coordinator, Anne’s absence is palpable to the Tradicao community. “Anne had an amazing attitude and spirit that will be missed, and we want to make sure she is never forgotten.” The restaurant seeks to honor her legacy and the profession of female firefighters with this special drink.
