Where Did We Go?

Ula’s Mexican Restaurant & Cantina
5555 Washington Ave., Houston, Texas 77007

What’s the Skinny?

In a sea of Tex-Mex heavy hitters, Ula’s is bringing it and quite honestly holding their own. One of the cornerstones of Ula’s is providing their guests with culinary excellence in Mexican food. They mean that from the fresh food that’s served to delivering first-class service from the time a guest walks through the doors.

What Did We Love?

I love the fact that Chef Ulises Gonzalez is bringing us classics and also giving us some of the favorites that have roots in Chiapas de Corzo in Mexico. The stars of the show for me would have to go to:

Chile Rellenos – A traditional poblano pepper recipe topped with Mexican sauce and Monterey cheese. Served with rice, refried beans and tortillas. Stuffed with your choice of meat.

Campechanas – A South Texas classic with fresh gulf shrimp and crab in a zesty blend of tomato, avocado and spices.

Mexican Smoked Ribs – Slow roasted ribs, chargrilled and basted with their spicy BBQ sauce.

And we can’t forget about the tasty margaritas.
