What’s the Skinny?
Many of us are already aware of the juicing program and “create your own” salads that are available at all Snap Kitchen’s around the city. And if you’ve stopped by during lunch or on your way home from the office, you may have even dropped in to snag one of their conveniently prepared and packaged entrees. With clearly printed labels and options for all dietary preferences (organic, gluten-free, paleo, etc.), Snap Kitchen has created the perfect niche for those seeking to eat well without losing flavor, taste, or those important nutrients that get lost during the cooking process.
Here recently, Snap Kitchen has introduced a few new items to their menu. The goal was not to reinvent the wheel, but to show and prove that “diet food” can be chef-driven, inventive, creative, and good to the very last bite. Chef Matt Reinhart and registered dietitian Andrea Hinsdale are passionate about this concept and we agree that this is a step in the right direction; especially if you are looking to make a lifestyle change. The sterotypes around healthy eating have been around for as long as we can remember and Snap Kitchen is about to change your perceptions.
What Did We Love?
We fell in love with the Chicken and Green Chile “Enchiladas” (Roasted Poblano “Cream” Sauce, Chicken Breast, Housemade Paleo Tortilla, Pickled Red Onions), because of it’s rich favors and that delicious and creamy roasted poblano sauce. The next one still has us saying, “NO FREAKIN WAY THIS DOES NOT HAVE A MILLION CALORIES!”; it’s the Raw Coconut Macaroons (Unsweetened Shredded Coconut, Almond Flour, Agave Nectar, Extra Virgin Coconut Oil).
Not to throw any shade to the old menu, because it was definitely tasty, but the new menu items just took our taste buds to new heights and had us cheering for the delicious favors!
