What’s the Skinny?

When it’s time to decide on which spot will be your lunch destination for the day, my first mind is to mentally scan all places that offer a prix fixe menu. Why? Well, you tend to get more bang for your buck and it allows you to try smaller portions at higher end restaurants for a fraction of the price. Morton’s The Steakhouse has a lunch offering that is suited to give you all that you enjoy at dinner; but only about 7 hours earlier.

So named the Morton’s “Prime Lunch”, it includes your choice of soup or salad, a entree (for example, you can opt for a 9 oz. Ribeye or go lighter and order the Honey-Chili Glazed Salmon Filet) and end with the Double Chocolate Mousse or the Cheesecake. And even though the portions are smaller, they are not shabby and you will leave full and possibly with a doggie bag in tow. The fact that there are many variations is a plus too; an option that you don’t see everywhere. You can return every day of your work week and try something different. Even if you don’t go for the prix fixe selection, they have an expansive lunch menu with great choices like their Warm Steak Salad that I have my eye on.

What Did We Love?

Although I enjoyed choosing the selections that made up my 3-part lunch, I enjoyed eating them even more. I couldn’t pass up the Lobster Bisque, even though I ALWAYS get it; I can tend to be a creature of habit. For my main dish, the Baked Stuffed Jumbo Shrimp with Crabmeat Stuffing and Parmesan Capellini was ideal, and I ended with chocolate, of course.

Lobster Bisque, Baked Five Onion Soup, Roasted Tomato Bisque, Morton’s Salad, Caesar Salad, or Chopped Spinach Salad

Choice of Entree:

  • Grilled 9 oz Ribeye Steak with Garlic Butter and Mashed Potatoes
  • Baked Stuffed Jumbo Shrimp with Crabmeat Stuffing and Parmesan Capellini
  • Crab Cake BLT with Caper Dill Mayonnaise and Matchstick Fries
  • Honey-Chili Glazed Salmon Fillet with Vegetable Relish
  • Chicken Christopher with Garlic Beurre Blanc and Mashed Potatoes
  • Prime Sirloin Chopped Steak with Caramelized Onions, Cheddar Cheese, and Mashed Potatoes

Choice of Dessert:
Double Chocolate Mousse or Cheesecake
