We officially kicked off the fifth year of the Food Network New York City Wine & Food Festival presented by FOOD & WINE Friday, October 12, 2012. This is such a great event for many reasons, including the fact that one hundred percent of the net proceeds from the Festival benefit both the Food Bank for New York City and Share Our Strength. This event is held multiple times a year in various cities like Miami and Aspen.
The festival can be a bit overwhelming, so you have to be fairly careful to not overdo it. With a mix of wine events, grand tastings, sit down dinners, chef meet and greets, book signings, seminars, and the awesome parties, you will have a ton of options to choose from. Given our experience with the Miami Beach Wine & Food Festival earlier this year, we were mindful and only chose those events that were later in day which gave us time to enjoy New York City.
Day one of the festival was a treat! We hung out in the Meatpacking District (Meatpacking Uncorked) where we got the opportunity to shop, sip on wine, and enjoy some of the best food trucks and eateries new York City had to offer.
