Initial Thoughts: Love the patio, Cheff Jett is da bomb.com, Can I have some Pad Thai please?

Chef Junnajet “Jett” Hurapan’s personality completely draws you in and so will his food. In 2012, we had the chance to go behind the scenes with Chef Jett at Blu Restaurant in Sugarland. Even then he raved about the street food in his hometown of Bangkok. However, at Blu, it wasn’t all about Thai cuisine (his first love). Blu serves up an Asian “fusion” cuisine, for lack of a better term, blending Thai, Chinese and even Indian. Officially launched as of May 27th, Cheff Jett has gone back to his roots and is bringing us a spot that is exclusively Thai. Named after Thailand’s traditional New Year’s celebration, Songkran Thai Kitchen is bringing something new to Uptown Park – in addition to bringing the heat! 

Reminds me of the house I grew up in that had a red door. It gives the place a powerful yet inviting look.

I need some water! This Kang Khew Waan ( coconut green curry chicken) brought the heat in a major way. 

The Goong Ka-Bok (chicken and shrimp crispy rolls) were addictive and had the perfect crunch. I could have eaten a dozen.

It was a no brainer that I would try the Pad Thai Chicken. The plump and juicy shrimp were the highlight.

Well, How Was It???

I did say that Chef Jett was the bomb.com. To make it short and sweet…it was damn good.
