Kicking off a season of celebration, Cordúa Restaurants introduces a trio of specials commemorating their first 25 years of sharing inspiring Latin cuisine with Houstonians. The July Anniversary Specials, launching Monday, July 1, 2013, feature a variety of Cordúa classics and a special one-time-only menu, with all items priced in recognition of the founding year – 1988. All specials will be available throughout the month of July at various locations.

Kicking off the Anniversary is a duo of lunch specials – The Original™ Tres Leches Cake and the Classic Mojito – available during lunch throughout the month of July for a mere 88 cents. Both The Original™ Tres Leches Cake, perfect as a happy ending to a business or casual lunch, and the cool and refreshing mint-infused Classic Mojito, are joyful indulgences for those in need of a midday treat. The pair of accompaniments are available at Artista, Amazon Grill, all Churrascos locations (Sugar Land, River Oaks, Westchase) and all Américas locations (River Oaks and The Woodlands).

Diners looking for an elevated experience will delight a three-course Chef Pairing Menu for Two, featuring signature Cordua cuisine and pairings. The $88-for-two pairing menu, paired with a Classic Mojitos and a bottle of Rivarey Crianza ’09, will be available throughout the month of July at all Churrascos (Sugar Land, River Oaks, Westchase) and Américas locations (River Oaks and The Woodlands). The July specials mark the beginning of a season of celebratory “thank you’s,” commemorating the 25th Anniversary of Churrascos and 20th Anniversary of Américas, culminating in special events to be held during Fall 2013. Since his first restaurant opened in 1988, Nicaraguan native Michael Cordúa has long been recognized as the pioneer of Latin cuisine in the United Sates. Reflecting Cordúa’s culinary brilliance, he is the only chef in Texas to be inducted into Food & Wine magazine’s “Hall of Fame,” also being named a 2011 James Beard Foundation award semifinalist, as well as the recipient of the Robert Mondavi Award – among other prestigious culinary awards. In 2007, Cordúa was joined by his son, David Cordúa, a graduate of the prestigious Le Cordon Bleu Paris, and who was named 2010 “Upcoming Chef of the Year” by My Table magazine.
