Did you know that Perry’s Steakhouse has their very own Private Reserve wines? Well they have been doing it for 10 years now and this year not only did they premier their new vintages, but they also debuted their new larger Magnum bottles that are perfect to celebrate in the most grand way (along with a new signature bottle design). Perry’s Steakhouse was one of the first restaurants to offer their own premium wine selection. And they have done a very good job in offering a high quality wine at a very reasonable price point.

As we would be the first to be exposed to the new wines, Perry’s Corporate Sommelier Susi Zivanovic was on hand herself to walk us through the selections. Perry’s Steakhouse works very closely with Amci Cellars to help create the perfect wines for the brand where grapes from both Napa and Sonoma are used. They are also involved in every step of the process from growing and harvesting the grapes to the bottling.

The two wines unveiled were their 2016 Private Reserve Chardonnay and 2015 Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon. The crisp 2016 Private Reserve Chardonnay gives you the familiar tartness by way of aromas of Granny Smith apples and other citrus notes paired with sweeter aromas from fruits like mango. It was a beautiful wine that was very approachable and not as dry as other I have enjoyed. The Chardonnay was paired with their Bacon Wrapped Scallops and Tempura Fried Lobster.

The Private Reserve 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon was phenomenal. It was a rich Cab boasting aromas and flavors of espresso and cherry. It was extremely balanced and paired well with the New York Strip Steak with Truffle Merlot Sauce & Sherried Mushrooms and their Chocolate Crunch that ended our meal. The wine goes well with any steak you would order at Perry’s Steakhouse.

Head on out to any Perry’s Steakhouse on Thursday, October 19th where guests will received half-priced bottles of the new Perry’s Private Reserve Cabernet and Chardonnay with the purchase of two entrees! Oh yeah!
