Ripe Market Café is the newest addition to the Urban Harvest Farmers Market family. With the new Sunday market opening at the popular Eastside location on April 28, 2013, Ripe will provide a healthy and local brunch menu that will change weekly and seasonally. Owner, Stephanie Hoban, is a Registered and Licensed Dietitian, Natural Foods Chef, and the force behind the blog, Ripe. “I started Ripe, as a creative outlet and way for me to continue my passion of cooking,” says Hoban. “I honestly want to help people eat healthier, even if it’s just for a meal, and share my knowledge of whole, plant-based foods.” The pop-up café will open May 12, 2013 and feature a variety of wholesome selections such as Local Beet Falafel with Lime Tzatziki, Market Vegetable Breakfast Burritos, and Asian Zucchini “Noodle” Salad. Every dish served will reflect Ripe’s mantra of  “Eat with a purpose. Maximize nutrition. Stay Ripe.” 

About Stephanie
Hoban received her culinary training from the Natural Gourmet Institute for Health and Culinary Arts in New York City, the premier health-supportive culinary school in the country. After completing her culinary training, Hoban interned at El Chaflan, a Michelin star winner in Madrid, Spain, and then returned to her hometown of Houston to continue her education and dietetic training. Hoban is also a former line cook at Houston’s farm to table restaurant Haven, and currently works full time as the Houston Registered Dietitian for Snap Kitchen. Hoban, age 25, holds a BS in Nutrition and Dietetics from New York University, where she graduated Cum Laude, and a MS in Nutrition, graduating Magna Cum Laude, from Texas Women’s University in Houston, TX. Hoban is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, Vegetarian Nutrition Dietetic Practice Group, Nutritional Entrepreneurs Dietetic Practice Group and Houston’s Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
