Local Pour is slated to open at Hughes Landing in The Woodlands in April, bringing the popular River Oaks restaurant/tavern north for a second location – with some tasty new twists. Chief among them is an increased emphasis on quality food.
The Houston-based pub group that owns Local Pour, Baker St., and Sherlock’s among its numerous successful concepts – hired former Haven chef/owner Randy Evans as Consulting Chef for the new location. One of Houston’s best regarded chefs, Evans spent several months in the kitchen at the original Local Pour in River Oaks tinkering with the menu in collaboration with HUSA Corporate Chef Pablo Gomez.
Evans helped put the “local” in the new Local Pour, bringing in Texas purveyors that include 44 Farms, Atkinson Farms, Lawler Foods and Axis Venison. Offerings on the new menu – available exclusively at The Woodlands location for the time being – include large selections of appetizers such as Korean Pork Lollipops and Steamed Mussels, entrées like the Herb Roasted Wood Grilled Chicken and 44 Farms NY Strip, delectable specialty items such as Almond Salmon, Walnut Pesto Pasta Primavera and other daily features.
Local Pour The Woodlands will be open for lunch – another change for the new location – and eventually feature Sunday brunch with items such as Chicken and Waffles, Breakfast Tacos and Eggs Benedict. The 7,500-square-foot space will have seating for 274, including 65 on a patio that overlooks Lake Woodlands and a private dining space for 24-30.
Visitors to the new Local Pour will recognize many of the familiar trademarks of the original location, which has been drawing line-out-the-door crowds since it opened in 2013 at River Oaks Shopping Center.
The new bar will offer 48 draft beers, including a plethora of local selections from Saint Arnold, Karbach, Southern Star, Buffalo Bayou, No Label, B-52, Real Ale, Shiner Bock, Live Oak, 512 Brewing and Lone Pint, along with 30 bottled beers. There also will be four wines and two cocktails (Local Pour Sangria and the Lone Star Sour) on tap, along with full wine and cocktail menus. Local Texas spirits behind the bar include Rebecca’s Creek, Yellow Rose, Railean, Pecan St., SAVVY, Cinco, Tito’s, Dripping Springs, Deep Eddy, Paula’s, Ranger Creek, TX Whiskey, Herman Marshall, Balcones, Garrison Brothers and Yellow Rose.

Happy Hour will be every day from 4-9 p.m.The restaurant will open daily at 11 a.m.for lunch, with dinner service until 10 p.m.and a late-night food menu available from 10 p.m.until close.

The development eventually will include up to nine office buildings, 1,000 multifamily residential units, an Embassy Suites Hotel, shops and entertainment venues.
