The highly anticipated Liberty Kitchen & Oysterette of F.E.E.D. TX restaurant group opens its doors on Monday, October 21, 2013 with full service. Liberty Kitchen & Oysterette will be the fourth restaurant to open under master conceptualizer, Lee Ellis, and his restaurant group F.E.E.D. TX. Current restaurants include BRC Gastropub, Liberty Kitchen Oyster Bar and Petite Sweets. In the months following Oysterette’s opening, Owner Lee Ellis and Chef Partner Lance Fegen will welcome a handful of additions to the F.E.E.D. TX restaurant family. These will include a Liberty Kitchen Oyster Bar location in Austin as well as a few new concepts, Cowboy Surfers and Lee’s Fried Chicken & Doughnuts.
Designed by Carl Eaves and Lee Ellis, Liberty Kitchen & Oysterette combines contemporary design features with east and west coast influence. “We wanted to create a modern space with subtle coastal details to reflect the changing of tastes in Houstonians without straying too far from our metropolitan roots,” said Eaves on his inspiration and collaboration with Ellis. Parisian light fixtures, copper table tops, a glass-encased private dining room, upholstered leather bar stools and reclaimed wood are a few of the design elements found in the Oysterette. A large, circular, full service bar anchors the restaurant in the center of the space, half of which is dedicated to cocktails and the other half to oyster and seafood preparations.
Sister restaurant to Liberty Kitchen & Oyster Bar, the Oysterette will feature a similar menu designed by Chef Fegen with a special emphasis on oyster selections. “We designed the Oysterette menu with a sophisticated, social and comfortable dining experience in mind,” says Chef Fegen. “Guests will notice an extensive, more refined list of options with a large selection of small plates for sharing around the table. The Oysterette menu is very seafood-centric, and we can’t wait to reveal the unique and robust oyster bar kitchen located in the center of the restaurant.” Continuing to bring coastal gourmet comfort food to the Houston dining scene, Liberty Kitchen & Oysterette will offer an array of “Seabar” selections like Littleneck Clams, Banana Leaf Hot Smoked Pacific Salmon and California Royal Osetra Caviar. Desserts will include pies, cakes and sweets from Petite Sweets. Executive Chef is Travis Lenig who came from Liberty Kitchen & Oyster Bar in the heights.
Liberty Kitchen & Oysterette is located at 4224 San Felipe St., Houston, TX 77027 and will be open seven days per week.
