From the same owners who brought you Bosscat Kitchen & Libations, the recently opened (back in February) BCK: Kitchen & Cocktail Adventures is bringing you “out of the box” brunch dishes with a dash of nostalgia, topped with a lot of fun, and fitted with a side of deliciousness.
Simply stated, BCK Kitchen & Cocktails is the place to go when you want a great brunch with great drinks. Just don’t be surprised when you and your crew get the urge to break into your happy dance on your way out.
Their brunch items have been known to make you pull out your phone for a selfie or two (of the food that is). And as cool-looking as they are, they don’t fall short in the taste category! So when their new brunch menu kicked off back in late April, we had to drop by to indulge.
What I enjoyed most about my experience is that every dish felt familiar and many were dishes I had enjoyed growing up; just presented in a new way. So let’s jump right into a few of my faves, shall we?
It’s messy, but it sure is good! This is what results from buttery toast, ground beef, country gravy, and a runny fried egg. So named, the S.O.S, this is that stick-to-your-ribs breakfast dish that just hits the spot. Well I for one can’t think of a better way to start the day.
When this stack of yum-come-getcha-some came to the table, you would have thought I had won the lottery! I don’t think anyone would back down from grabbing a bite of this Bananas Foster French Toast. Using Texas toast (such a great way to begin), their version is topped with a VERY generous serving of banana and maple rum caramel, fresh bananas and a marshmallow fluff that is torched to perfection.
The Frito Pie Scramble surprised me as I didn’t really know what to expect. I do love me some Frito Pie but with eggs too? Umm, yes please! If you grew up enjoying this Southern staple, you just gotta eat this.
This list of favorites wouldn’t be complete without mentioning the Apple Jacks Breakfast Bun – a sticky apple bun (which is very good all by itself) bathed in cereal milk glaze (I could have drank a pitcher of this stuff), and of course, Apple Jacks.
In addition to the food, BCK also offers some really awesome cocktails. Opt for the Kir Royal berry champagne cocktail, the Flaming Hot Bloody Mary topped with Flamin’ Hot Cheetos, a Screwdriver made with fresh orange-infused vodka, and/or the $30 “Build Your Own Mimosas” that comes with a bottle of champagne and choice of juice – with an additional option to spike it with St. Germain, Chambord or Peach Liqueur. Oh yeah!
Brunch is available on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
