Mark S. Mednansky, CEO of Del Frisco’s Restaurant Group, today announced that Del Frisco’s Grille will open mid-March in Houston’s River Oaks neighborhood. Located amid the bustling Upper Kirby District in West Ave, Del Frisco’s Grille is an exciting new eatery dishing up creative twists on American comfort classics. The menu at Del Frisco’s Grille takes the traditional bar and grill to new heights, using bold flavors, regional ingredients and local flair in many of its dishes.

Executive Chef Jeff Taylor, who has worked within the company for the past eleven years, will feature Del Frisco’s Grille classics that are easy to share with friends. “Food to Fight Over” showcases Cheesesteak Egg Rolls, Pimento Cheese Fritters, and Ahi Tacos. Wood-oven-baked flatbreads include the Garlic Shrimp with chorizo, mozzarella, cilantro pesto and pickled red chili, and the Wild Mushroom with fontina cheese, caramelized onions and baby arugula.

The menu is rounded out with a selection of Del Frisco’s signature prime steaks and decadent “Little Somethin’ Somethin” shareable indulgences such as the Gristmill Grits with Cajun Lobster Gravy, Chipotle Three-Cheese Mac, and Sea Salt Parmesan Frites. “Ruffage” – salads include the Iceberg Lettuce Wedge, Knife and Fork Caesar, and Heirloom Tomato & Burrata drizzled with balsamic vinegar, basil oil and sprinkled with baby arugula. Formidable “Two-Fisted Sandwiches” like the Green Chili Cheeseburger and Shaved Prime Steak Sandwich with Horseradish Sauce, Au Jus and Frites are joined by chef-inspired entrees. Menu stand-outs include the Prime Beef Short Rib Stroganoff, Sole Francese and a wicked Veal Meatloaf with mashed potatoes and bordelaise sauce.

Even late-night revelers will get up early for the Grille brunch that includes an out-of-this-world Red Velvet Belgian Waffle, The Grille Benedict and Chicken Fried Steak & Eggs with jumbo biscuit and chorizo gravy. Sip or Share by the glass or carafe the Build-Your-Own Bloody Mary and Brunch Punch or select one of the Grille’s hand-crafted cocktails. With 500 selections from the Grille’s sleek “wine wall,” Del Frisco’s Grille offers a wide variety of choices that appeal to every palate, from the adventurous to the traditional. Del Frisco’s Director of Wine, David O’Day, has carefully selected wines from both established and up-and-coming regions in the world, creating an affordable, approachable wine list that is surprisingly more extensive than those found in a traditional bar and grill.

“We are thrilled to open Del Frisco’s Grille in one of Houston’s most desired zip codes,” said Mark Mednansky, CEO of Del Frisco’s Restaurant Group. “Houston is known for its award-wining and sophisticated dining scene and we’re excited to welcome guests with our genuine hospitality. This is an everyday bar and grill that has exciting food, great cocktails, eclectic wine list and a fun place to catch up with friends.”

The Grille open for lunch, cocktails, dinner and Sunday brunch, features an inviting, modern interior. A fun addition to area nightlife, the bar at Del Frisco’s Grille amps up the party scene with imaginative, memorable cocktails including The Kilt Lifter and Apt. 5D, plus shots on tap like The Honey Badger.

“We can’t wait to share with Houston what Del Frisco’s Grille is all about. This is the perfect place to come for girls’ night out, a casual date, or post game,” said general manager Scott Sieck. “We’ve created a space that is inviting, a menu that is truly delicious and an atmosphere that is playful and fun. Our two patios are certain to be the place to gather day or night.”

Designed by The Johnson Studio, an award-wining architecture and design firm, the restaurant will capture the sophisticated elegance of River Oaks. Glowing red-orange awnings will draw guests to the entrance of the Grille. Upon arrival they will view an aged zinc-paneled wall, complete with a beautiful art piece. The energetic bar speaks to this wall with a complimentary aged zinc counter top. Rich wood tones, warm gray walls, dark wood floors mixed with comfortable soft gray fabric and leather booths create a relaxed dining environment. An expo kitchen is visible to the main dining room and adds energy to the space. Overhead, a truss of chrome light fixtures gives the feeling of dining under the stars.
