My August Degustabox has arrived! Last month we gave you the 411 on the Degustabox subscription box and this month we decided to take it one step further. Along with the many goodies (some that are new to me) included in the box each month, a few recipes are provided as well. This is super smart and a cool feature of their program. Since I am always looking for new recipes and something to create with the family on the weekends, this turned into a mini project and a welcomed treat for me.

Of the two recipes provided, Homemade Cheddar Cheese Crackers and Nut & Honey Blondies, of course my choice would be something sweet. Once all the ingredients were measured, it took a mere 15 minutes to get everything blended and ready for the oven. Twenty-five minutes later, I was enjoying a little piece of heaven with a tall glass of milk. Check out the one-minute video of the Nut & Honey Blondies in the making!

Nut & Honey Blondies

Non-stick cooking spray
1/2 cup of butter
1/3 cup of honey
2/3 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
1 egg
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 1/4 cups White Lily All Purpose Wheat Flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup chopped walnuts, divided

Heat oven to 350ºF. Coat 8-inch square baking pan with non-stick cooking spray. Microwave butter and honey in medium microwave-safe bowl on high for 45 seconds or until melted and smooth when stirred. Stir in brown sugar until smooth. Cool for 15 minutes. Stir in egg and vanilla until blended. Stir in flour, salt, and baking powder just until blended. Stir in 3/4 cup walnuts. Spread evenly in prepared pan. Sprinkle with remaining ¼ cup walnuts. Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until edges are golden brown and center is set. Cool completely on wire rack.

I can’t wait to try the other items in my August Degustabox, and I better get started before my husband gets his hands on those Goetze’s Cow Tales (a chewy combination of caramel wrapped around a cream center) or my Loaker Rose of The Dolomite (chocolate filled with hazelnut cream, chopped hazelnut, and wafers)! Here is a detailed list of all the items included in this month’s box. The box retails for $19.99, but click here to be taken directly to their site and enter DTL1W for 50% off your first box which makes the cost $9.99!
