Arthur Ave Italian American is slated to make its highly anticipated debut in the beginning of the summer in the Houston Heights neighborhood (1111 Studewood). Paying tribute to the heritage of Italian-American cuisine centered on hearty dishes and classic red sauce, the inspiration for the menu by Executive Chef William Wright hails from recipes developed by Italian immigrant communities in the Northeastern cities of Philadelphia, New York and Boston. The fully equipped team (Director of Operations and Partner Sharif Al-Amin and Managing Partner Tim Faiola) that launched Helen Greek Food and Wine in July 2015 will soon be migrating north of town to spend the coming months perfecting iconic recipes that have been cherished in American culture for decades.

Arthur Ave will set the bar for the revival of this style of cooking and the team will honor traditions while also bringing a modern spin to recipes for sophisticated Houston diners. Named after the street in New York City that by every account is home to the city’s true “Little Italy”, Arthur Ave will be the first Houston restaurant to deliver these beloved Italian-American traditions to local plates. The spirit of Italian-American communal dining, originating from Italian immigrants entertaining large groups of family and friends in their homes, will also be evident in the atmosphere and hospitality of Arthur Ave.

The success of Helen Greek Food and Wine will heavily influence the approach and method behind Arthur Ave – incorporating the same tools, ingredients and knowledge while simultaneously operating under the same umbrella of management. Once again designer Erin Hicks is overseeing the build out of the 3,300 square foot project along with other familiar faces like Iron Sommelier Evan Turner, who will be overseeing the Arthur Ave wine program and Lainey Collum, who will serve as beverage consultant.

Arthur Ave will be open Monday – Thursday 11 a.m. – 10 p.m.; Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. – 11 p.m.; and Sunday 11 a.m. – 9 p.m. For more information, please visit
