The 2nd Annual Houston BBQ Festival would not let a little rain stop anything. The pitmasters and the crowd of 2,000 plus said, “This rain ain’t a thing in the face of good BBQ!”, as they lined up to get their fill from each of the 20 different BBQ spots in attendance. We quickly made our way to a few of our favorites like Brooks’ Place, Gatlin’s, Ray’s Real Pit BBQ Shack, The Brisket House, and Killen’s BBQ – and we were not disappointed. Additionally we tried some delicious pulled pork from Feges BBQ and finally got our teeth into some ‘cue from Corkscrew in The Woodlands.
If we had to rate this years festival we would give it 10 all around. The Houston BBQ Festival was a great example of how research and planning are key to any successful event. We are looking forward to next year and will make sure to have our rain boots and elastic pants on deck!
