1252 Tapas Bar, the chic, locally owned European-style Spanish tapas restaurant and bar is now open at Uptown Park. Situated in the former Berripop space next door to Café Express, 1252 Tapas Bar brings Houston’s premiere shopping and dining destination a wide variety of Spanish tapas, a full bar, and a lively atmosphere.

Further setting 1252 Tapas Bar apart from the multitude of restaurants and bars in the Houston area is its dynamic personality. 1252 Tapas Bar caters to many different crowds of many different ages: the business lunch crowd that seeks out 1252’s signature box lunch, loyal happy hour and dinner-goers; soccer fanatics (1252 prides itself on playing world soccer matches on its screens); live music aficionados that enjoy 1252’s Spanish music on Tuesday and Wednesday nights, and the 20-30-somethings that like to dance to the beat of a DJ on Thursday and Saturday nights.

Even the seating areas of 1252 cater to its diverse crowd. 1252 at Uptown Park boasts warm, inviting interiors, an al-fresco lounge, and a spacious covered patio. All throughout, 1252 Tapas Bar’s aesthetic is the exemplification of “old-world” meets “new world” – soft lighting emitted from wrought iron chandeliers showers an immense floor to ceiling brown and terra cotta-hued brick wall and a rustic, wooden bar -both complemented by the bright colors of a 1252 Tapas-inspired painting by local artist Juan Lascurain, and the sharp red, white, and black of ultra-modern chairs.

The opening of 1252 Tapas Bar at Uptown Park comes two and a half years after its first location opened in The Woodlands, and half a year after its opening in The Vintage.

“Since day one, people have been asking us to open a spot in Houston. We are extremely excited to be able to grant that wish, especially with our company being so young. Myself and the entire 1252 Tapas Bar team are incredibly appreciative of our supporters, as we would not be opening our third 1252 location today without them”, says 1252 Tapas Bar owner Jose Antonio Gomez.

1252 Tapas Bar at Uptown Park will have a grand opening celebration, open to the public, on Wednesday, August 15 from 5:30-8:30 pm. The grand opening jubilee will include live music by father-son flamenco guitar duo Jando, passed tapas, $1 house-made red & white sangria, $2 Estrella Damm beer, complimentary tequila shots & giveaways throughout the night.

The newest 1252 Tapas Bar location is situated at 1101 Uptown Park Boulevard, Suite 8, Houston, TX 77056. The restaurant and bar is open Monday-Wednesday from 11 a.m. to midnight; Thursday-Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m., and from noon – 6 p.m. on Sundays.
