In this watch series, I will share my love for timepieces and the designers and manufacturers that create some of my favorites. What attracts me to a watch? Although I think the craftmanship is super important, the bezel, dial, and band are the three things that get me excited. I treat my watch like I treat a pair of earrings and mascara – I never leave home without them!
“How do I love thee, let me count the ways”, are the words murmured from my mouth as I think of watch designer, Michele. Michele definitely caters to the young and the young at heart. By closely tying her watch collections and designs to those seen on the runway every season, Michele stays in line with what is trendy, hip, and happening. The brand is mainly focused around the art-deco style design, typically seen with a square or rectangular shaped face, a diamond bezel, and occasionally, a mother-of-pearl dial.
By offering interchangeable straps, a concept not frequently seen in high end brands, Michele has gained an increasing amount of popularity over the past few years. This popular design was introduced to Michele Watches by Michele Barouh, the namesake and daughter of Michele Watches founder Jack Barouh. From python, to alligator and calfskin, the watch bands are fabulous all by themselves. I was sold after seeing the bands years ago and the bright and inviting colors and textures are still present today.
There are approximately 13 watch collections available: Deco, CSX, Serein, Urban, Sport Sail, Caber, Fluette, Ascalon,Lilou, Butterfly, Tahitian, Ceramic, and Jelly Beans. And if can’t find what you like in any of these collections, you can always design your own! My favorite timepieces from Michele come from the new Park Jelly Beans, Deco, and Butterfly collections.
