It is no secret that watches have a very special place in my heart. My love for watches began many years ago when I was gifted with a my first “fancy” watch for my high school graduation. It was an Ann Klein watch where the bezel could be swapped out for colors ranging from yellow to blue. I thought I was “all that and a bag of chips”!

In this series, I will share my love for watches and the designers and manufacturers that create some of my favorite timepieces. What attracts me to a watch? Although I think the craftmanship is super important, the bezel, dial, and band are the three things that get me excited. I treat my watch like I treat a pair of earrings and masacara – I never leave home without them!

First up is a watch brand called Glam Rock. They are swiss movement watches handcrafted in France with headquarters in Dubai.

Glam Rock is known for their many collections that have evolved over time, but even as they change there remains one common theme – glamour. It is represented in every collection including their Miami collection, which started it all. It is my favorite collection and was the first “big face” watch that I absolutely fell in love with, and although it was larger than average, it still felt and looked feminine.

In addition to the Miami collection, they also offer a Diamond and Bal Harbour collection. The Diamond collection is perfect for the women who must rock a little bling (AKA sparkle) on her wrist and the Bal Harbour collection adds a touch of elegance to this classic line without oversimplifying it. What I love best about the Glam Rock watch is how the bezel is curved and not flat and many times they will continue the band material through to the bezel which in my opinion is pure genius.

Here are my favorites from each collection right now:

Miami Collection: Black Dial, Rose Gold Bezel, Stainless Steel Case, Python Inspired Leather Band

Diamond Collection: Black Dial, Diamond and Stainless Steel Case & Bezel, Genuine Blue Alligator Strap

Bal Harbour Collection: Natural Color Dial with White Diamonds, Yellow Gold Stainless Steel Case & Bezel, Genuine Saffiano Leather Perforated Strap

These watches can range in the area of $1,000 a pop, but my advice is to visit or and wait for a sale. I have been able to purchase pieces from the Maimi collection for around $200.
