It’s about that time…no, literally. The fall season is in full swing and for many of us this includes pulling out your fall gear, purchasing a few new pair of boots, and grabbing that sexy trench coat you’ve had your eye on since August. All those things are really important, but so is your watch game. What do I mean by “watch game?” Your fall watch selection: your office watch, your “go to” watch, your date night or night out with the girls watch, your special occasion watch, and the always handy backup watch. Your fall lineup is just not complete without them…

The Office Watch

This is the watch you wear during the day when you are in the office. It shouldn’t be fancy, expensive, too bright, or over the top. Now, if you work in a creative industry, you get a pass, but as an Software Architect, I am looking for something simple, classy, and super cute. Armani Exchange has a great collection of watches but every season they offer at least one watch in the line that is perfect for the office.

The “Go To” Watch

This is the watch you put on no matter what you’re wearing. It goes with everything and will most likely get the most use when compared to any other watch in your case. This may be a bit more expensive than your office watch but it’s worth it! I would recommend going with a neutral color (black, silver, or gold). Michael Kors is a no brainer for an every occasion watch; always stylish and he surprises you with a little change each season; like the introduction of the oval-faced watch this year.

The Date Night/Girls Night Out Watch

For this watch, you gotta bring your A game! For a night out with your beau or going on a cocktail crawl with your girls, I would definitely go with a Glam Rock. I love a big faced watch and with their many lines, you are sure to find a few new faves. Glam Rock is right next to Michael Kors when it comes time to purchase a new watch. They are a little expensive, but oh are they sharp! If you are looking for the glitz, the glam, the posh, the pop, and the swank…just start right here. If brown isn’t your thing, you can do a similar Glam Rock watch in tan or black. As another alternative, the Time Will Tell watches are so much fun; I had to add them. They offer a ton of color variations and are very inexpensive! Actually, they have an online customization tool that allows you to create your own rainbow!

The Special Occasion Watch

You don’t wear this one often, but it sure is nice. For a special occasion watch, I would recommend going with a silver or gold watch. Watches with leather bands can tend to minimize a fancy outfit. While you are at it, throw in a few diamonds. I find that a silver watch with a diamond edge is just perfect. The Diamond Collection from Bulova is spot on. They are not over-priced, they last forever, and everyone needs at least one in their case.

The Backup Watch

I came across the A Line watch when I was looking for something simple and had a pop of color. I am a fan of a watch with a color face or band, but you really have to come across the right one. There is one watch in particular from A Line that I completely adore. The face is simple with a hint of white (but not too much…it is fall people!) and their colors are great. This blue banded watch is great for anytime and when you wanna go just about anywhere. I purchased the grey one this summer but it can easily transition into fall.

For me, watches are like earrings…I feel bare without them. I can’t leave the house without a watch and I always have my backup in my purse. With that said, make sure your watch game is ready. If you need more recommendations, just let me know. So what is your favorite watch brand?
