To say I’d been counting down the days until the Peanut Butter & Honey Palette went on sale is just the start of my obsession with it!  I’ve stalked Too Faced Cosmetics and its founder, Jerrod Blandino’s, Instagram page just to make sure I didn’t miss anything important regarding the palette. And when Ulta Beauty, the exclusive sellers of this palette, sent out an early-bird purchase option to their platinum members, I was up bright and early to be the first to get my hands on it. If you follow Urban Swank on Instagram you may remember watching me purchase mine via Instastories.

Claims & Hype About The Product

Too Faced Cosmetics has had great success with their scented food-centric palettes. My favorites to date and a few cult classics are Chocolate Bar, Chocolate Bon Bons, Sweet Peach Palette, and Peanut Butter and Jelly! The new Peanut Butter and Honey Palette was born out of the success of the PB & J palette that hit the market last year. In addition to the delicious scents and banging colors offered in these palettes, the packaging is so adorbs!

Thoughts…Mad or Nah?

This one left me mad, I’m talking hotter than fish grease mad! I mean it was a complete miss, to the point I was questioning and wondering what in the hell was Too Faced thinking?!?

I’ve actually been sitting on this article for the last 2 months, because I was so disappointed and didn’t even want to talk about it. So many people knew how excited I was about it and kept asking me how was it and if I’d recommend it, so I knew I needed to share my thoughts.

Let me first say in no way is this palette brown girl friendly (mocha and darker skin tones don’t even bother) and I could suck that up if that was my only problem with it. The formula is completely off! The shadows are dry and not very pigmented, adding a primer gave it a slight boost. The colors are sheer and powdery with no staying power. Needless to say, I was left with no choice but to return it, which is something I never do!

Now that I’ve said all that, I am still a huge fan of Too Faced Cosmetics and will continue to purchase and support the brand.  Just one thing guys…don’t do that shit again!

Pros

  • It looks and smells amazing.
  • If you like very sheer and not so pigmented shadows this my work for you.
  • If you are a makeup collector then you need it for your collection.

Cons

  • The formula is off and the shadows are dry and powdery.
  • It’s not brown-girl friendly because the colors are much too sheer even when adding a primer.
  • Does not live up to the awesomeness of its predecessors. It’s not what we’ve grown to love and expect from Too Faced.

Until soon…Toodles

When I heard about this palette I thought it was sooo cute too! I am really LOVING the colors they picked out! So sad to hear that the eye shadows didn’t work out for you and that they’re dry! Definitely need to test this palette out before I decide to get it! lol!
