As makeup goes, I thought my love for the entire category was split pretty evenly! That was until I did an inventory of my collection. I quickly realized something that I kinda already knew deep down…I don’t REALLY REALLY love highlighters and blushes! Now keep in mind this is very much relative and in relation to the amount of other products I have. However, in the last 12 months, I’ve actually found lots of blushes that I like and am making up for the other years. As far as highlighters, I haven’t found many with real staying power, that don’t look ashy and I usually look for and good for a more natural glow. Plus sometimes I have a little texture on my face, and we know face texture and highlighter are not friends (translation…it’s not a good look)!

So a few week ago when one of my favorite makeup YouTubers, Jackie Aina, announced she had partnered with  Artist Couture to create a Rose Gold highlighter, LaBronze, I was over the moon. She gets it and knows what the girls want.

As luck would have it, many others feel the same way about Jackie Aina and the product sold out in 1.5 hours! You guys know how obsessed and crazy I get when I want a product, but this time I was out of luck because there were none…it’s GONE! Then I remembered a lovely rose gold highlighter that came in my Boxycharm Box (get the deets on Boxycharm by clicking here) in October that I completely disregarded. Could this make me feel better about not getting LaBronze? Only one way to find out…

Illuminating Face Highlighter by Jessica Liebeskind

Claims & Hype About the Product

It gives a subtle hint of color while delivering a sexy shimmer to the face. It was created to be worn alone or as a beautiful highlight over blush – the reflective pearls add radiance on contact, adding a delicate glow and diamond-like finish to the skin.

Thoughts…Mad or Nah

It’s definitely NAH!! Was it a dupe or a replacement for the LaBronze…no. Maybe a placeholder or even a new fave because I really like it. It gave me a beautiful glow and shimmer without being over the top. I got several compliments throughout my long day! So yes the staying power was on point; after 8 hours baby still had that illuminating glow. It was highly pigmented, but the color had a softness to it.

Pros

  • Beautiful color and would look good on all skin tones
  • Good staying power
  • Highly pigmented

Con

  • Only comes in 2 colors, Rose Gold and Crystal Pink

Until soon…Toodles
