If 2017 was the year of the eyeshadow palette, then 2018 is definitely looking like the year of new foundation launches! We are just in the second month of the year, and between premium brands and drugstore brands, we have had quite a few major foundation launches.

We’ve had NARS Natural Radiant Foundation, Marc Jacobs Shameless Youthful-Look 24H Foundation, Tarte Shape Tape Foundation, and Maybelline Super Stay Full Coverage Foundation, just to name a few, that have been released this year and that I’ve tried or that are on my radar! The one not mentioned above that I’ve been wearing for the last 4 weeks is Bobbi Brown’s Skin Long-Wear Weightless Foundation SPF 15.

Claims & Hype About The Product

I first heard about it after seeing several of my favorite YouTube beauty guru’s with oily combination skin rave about it. It looked flawless on them, along with the fact it’s available in 30 shades had me pumped up. I decided to start researching the product and to get a sample to try it out for myself. In the past, I’ve worn and enjoyed Bobbi Brown’s foundations in liquid and stick form. After using the sample in one day, I felt it was worthy of me purchasing and testing driving it for the next few weeks.

The company makes these claims about the product, “It’s a 16-hour wear, full coverage foundation with a natural, multidimensional matte finish that’s comfortable, breathable, and weightless. It has been tried and tested in extreme heat and humidity, and this formula is waterproof and sweat- and humidity-resistant.”

Thoughts…Mad or Nah

Bobbi Brown Skin Long-Wear Foundation After 7 Hours of Wear

In my testing and wearing of this foundation, I never wore it for the complete 16 hours, but I did wear it for 12 hours. It was smooth, lightweight, and maintained its true-color. I found it left me with very little cracking and creasing. My T-zone was starting to look a bit oily at the 12 hour mark, but nothing like my usual.

In the picture above I had been wearing the foundation for 7 hours. There was no additional face powder added nor did I use any blot papers. My concealer had started to settle in the lines under my eyes (this is normal for me especially with my leaky eyes), but that was only concealer since I don’t add foundation under my eyes.

So was I MAD or NAH?!?!? This one left me saying, NAH I’m not mad at it! I mean how can you be mad at something you are crushing on. I’m really enjoying this foundation and can’t wait to see how it does in the spring and dog days of summer here in Houston.

Pros

  • It left my skin shine-free.
  • The foundation is hydrating and did not leave my skin feeling dry.
  • It was smooth and extremely blendable.
  • My skin was natural-looking without being cakey and any creasing after hours of wear.

Cons

  • If you have dry skin, you will need to use a face oil or a good moisturizer before applying this foundation. Otherwise, it may be to dry for your skin in appearance and feel.
  • This is a premium brand so the foundation is on the pricier side.

SWANKSTERS, have you tried this foundation or any of the new foundations that have launched so far in 2018? If so give us the deets!

Until soon…Toodles
