The world of mascara is full of options and like many beauty products, there are way too many choices to filter through. And on top of that, we all have different needs when it comes to our selection. Some of us have long lashes and are looking for a mascara that will balance out our length while giving us more fullness. Others want their lashes to appear longer and fullness is not necessarily as important. In the end, we all want the same thing – long, lush, and full lashes – that do not smudge or flake!

No matter if I am opting for a casual daytime look or want a more dramatic look for a evening out, price does come into play. I do have my favorite “higher end” mascaras, but over the years, I have found a few drugstore alternatives that keep my pocketbook quite happy. Taking a trip to my local Walgreens or CVS is also convenient after realizing it is time for a new tube and ordering one online is not an option. The drugstore mascaras may not go head to head with your go to Dior, M.A.C., Lancôme, Giorgio Armani, Nars, or Shu Uemura lines, but they will have you looking fabulous for half the price!

L’Oreal Voluminous False Fiber Lashes Mascara ($9)

I have been wearing L’Oreal mascara for years and this was actually the first mascara my mother recommended to me. L’Oreal has several products in this line and they all result in amazing lashes. This particular mascara has a formula that adheres to every lash which makes them appear fuller and longer without the smudge. Also try: L’Oreal Voluminous Butterfly Mascara or L’Oreal Telescopic Mascara.

Revlon Grow Luscious Plumping Mascara ($8)

Revlon is hit and miss but every now and then you will find a mascara that stands out in front of the pack. This mascara works great if you are looking to add a ton of volume to your lashes. The more you apply (think of layering the product on), the better the result. It also helps to strengthen your lashes and has a waterproof option as well. Also try: Revlon Bold Lacquer Mascara.

CoverGirl Clump Crusher By LashBlast Mascara ($8)

This brightly colored tube of mascara has been getting a lot of love from the beauty experts the past few years. Known as the “clump crusher”, it not hard to figure out its biggest benefit. The secret is in the fine-toothed curved brush. Grabbing every lash individually, it is designed to prevent clumps altogether. This works great as a daily wear option when the thicker look is not what you are going for. Also try: CoverGirl Full Lash Bloom Mascara.

Maybelline Full ‘N Soft Mascara ($7)

I fell in love with this mascara after having a bad experience with another product which will go unnamed. There is nothing worse than the feeling of dry and brittle lashes. Some of these products are way too harsh and heavy but Full ‘N Soft is a life changer. It creates a feathery effect, is formulated with vitamin E, adds zero bulky build-up, and doesn’t give you the “black-ring-under-your-eye” look like you have been crying all day. Also try: Maybelline Volum’ Express The Falsies Flared Mascara, Maybelline New York Lash Sensational Mascara, or Maybelline Illegal Length Fiber Extensions Mascara.

Physicians Formula Organic Wear 100% Natural Origin Jumbo Lash Mascara ($9)

This mascara is made with 47% natural organic ingredients and I like it because it is light, goes on easy, and results in a major wow factor for my lashes when I am focused on lengthening. It’s really a solid product and is great for those with allergies, suffer from eye irritations, or are prone to skin reactions from mascara. Also try: Physicians Formula Organic Wear 100% Natural Origin Fakeout Mascara.
