Before we get into all the good good that we all know to be NARS Cosmetics, let’s just take a moment and think about how exciting it is to finally have a FREAKIN’ NARS store in Houston! Please tell me I’m not the only one that just did a lap around my kitchen doing fist pumps and squealing like a pig…yes, I’m a little extra, but whatever it’s NARS damn it!

If you missed our latest buzz, click here to check it out, the new NARS Cosmetics store opened last weekend in River Oaks District. The space is GAWJUS and the artist that make up (no pun intended) the Houston team are fab! They earned that title by answering one simple question that anyone doing professional makeup in our city should be able to answer… “How does one keep a beautiful summer luminous makeup look, without having their entire face melt from the all the heat and humidity that we experience here in Houston? Check out a few tips from NARS Makeup Stylist, Yaneek Proctor:

  1. Always use primers! Face and eye primers are a must. These will help hold your makeup in place for the extreme temperatures and humidity in Houston. One of my favorites is the NARS Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base – it creates a seamless canvas that keeps eye color from smudging, creasing or caking.
  2. After you’ve used your primer, I recommend a long-wear foundation which is humidity and heat resistant. This type of formula will help you “lock in your flawless” for all day wear.  Try NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation for buildable coverage and 16-hour wear.
  3. Water resistant or waterproof makeup is a must-have in humid climates. NARS Eye Paint is a great staple and can be used as eyeliner, or smudged out as eyeshadow and provide 18-hour wear! You can wear it alone, or with your favorite eyeshadow over it.

These are just a few makeup tips which will make a huge difference in humid climates.  For more fabulous tips and to pick these and many more items up, make your way to the new store.

Until soon…Toodles!
